FOOD AND DRINK If you enjoy good food and wines you will not find Perigord a disappointment, as even the French acknowledge it as their premier region for the gourmet. Pate de foie gras, truffles, crepes, Bergerac, Monbazillac and Bordeaux wines, Armagnac and Cognac are all local specialties. Wines can be sampled at many local vineyards and "caves", and the Monbazillac chateau is not to be missed. The local restaurants serve a five course meal from about 60 francs a head, and some even include wine at this price. Details of suggested restaurants and places to visit will be found at the house.
